How the baseboard calculator works

Wall perimeter = 2 × (room length + width). Subtract door openings without baseboard. Multiply by (1 + cutting allowance ÷ 100), then divide by stock board length and round up.

Worked example

A 14 × 11 ft room has a 50 ft perimeter. Subtract a 3 ft doorway to get 47 ft. Add 10% for 51.7 ft, or seven 8 ft boards.

Before you order

Long continuous walls may require additional pieces because offcuts cannot always be reused; plan scarf joints and corner cuts before purchasing.

All results are planning estimates, not a guarantee of installed material quantity or a quote. Measure the actual project, verify product labels, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
